Abducted
This is the first cut of our film Abducted. At the moment, this cut is just a skeleton version of what the real version shall be. The font, lack of sound and lack of the dream sequence will be included in the next update. The reason we haven't implemented it fully is so we have a rough cut where we can implement more and test out fonts and sound. Having a skeleton copy of our film is really benefitting our planning. For example, we have a physical cut where we can test ideas and see what works.
What Is Good?
- I think the variety of shots and angles are great. There are lots of examples of creative shots throughout this opening sequence. For example, there are a few shift focus shots. This really mixes up the shots and makes the film look more professional and creative.
- The setting. I believe the setting we have chosen is perfect. It accurately illustrates a casual teenage room - with some added props to make it slightly more feminine.
What Can Be Improved?
- The typography in general needs to be improved. I believe the positioning and the base font doesn't suit our genre. The size is too big and the font is too formal for a coming of age film. This will defiantly be changed during editing of the second cut.
- Sound: At the moment, we are unable to find a song track that suits our film. Since we are aiming for a horror coming of age film, we need to have music that is casual but has sinister undertones. This type of music is very hard to find especially when most of the music we have found is not copy right free.
